It is easy to find popular definitions of success.

But, how do YOU define it?

Almost every magazine & newspaper contains articles and advertisements suggesting what success is:

  • a new car
  • an abundant bank account
  • a promotion
  • a big house
  • hip and trendy folks partying with a certain kind of vodka
  • well-dressed children
  • enough medication so you can go to work and no one will even know you have a cold

. . . you've seen them all.

When you examine YOUR own view of success are those the images that come to mind? What are the things you're willing to reach for?

How do you measure your success?

There are many, many folks who have accepted our culture's general view of success without giving it a moment's thought. How about you?

Are you creating the life you most want based on what is significant, important and valuable to you?

If not, why not?

Shift your view to achieving success on your own terms. You have complete choice in this matter! Your personal definition of success paves the road for creating your goals, your habits, your behaviors. It lays the foundation upon which you build your life. Therefore, invest time to decide what you value, and how you will measure its achievement. This may be the most worthwhile endeavor you could ever undertake. Then, you will know when you are being successful and have something to celebrate.

Speaking of success, Rev. Jesse Jackson is quoted as saying, "If you can see it in your mind and feel it in your heart, it can be." What do you see in your mind and feel in your heart for yourself?
